Healthy family is one of our core values at Bethesda. Family groups serve to create community by breaking bread, having fellowship, worshipping and just having plain fun together while cultivating a culture of honor- we hope you find a group that can meet your God given design for community!

Study Groups

  • Bible Talk

    Journey through the scriptures with an in-depth discussion of uncommon questions about church tradition theology as well as topical studies, bible etymology, and all things taboo. We have covered topics such as:

    • The Parables of Jesus

    • What is God's grace?

    • What is God's judgment?

    • What is hell?

    • What does it mean to be water baptized?

    Bring your thoughts, questions and revelations, and we will explore the majesty of the Word of God together. This group is intended to have an open, friendly discussion that inspires an atmosphere to learn and grow together and not dogmatic theological debates.

    This is an online bible study group that meets on Skype every Friday at 2pm.

  • Biblical Citizenship

    Are you perplexed regarding the condition of our country and wondering what you can do to partner with God to bring about change?

    This 8-Week Patriot Academy course, Biblical Citizenship, includes a captivating overview of the Constitution, filmed in Independence Hall where it was actually framed, along with historically accurate and intriguing facts and artifacts from the founding era, all enhanced with teachings and interviews from pastors and other Christian leaders who are engaged in today’s cultural battles!

    This group is about ways to make a difference despite the responsibilities of job, work, family. It involves 8 weeks of video podcasts by Rick Green (Patriot Academy) and David Barton (Wallbuilders) Fredericksburg, Texas. The videos are upbeat, humorous and easily comprehensible.

    The venue is local and family-friendly space for children to play indoors. The first class would be held 4/16/24, 6:30pm. The classes are free, an hour in length and there is no limit to the number of participants.

  • Christology

    Christology is perfect theology. It is the understanding of who Christ is in His incarnate person. We will dive into the person of Jesus, learn what it means to have a high Christology, how to read the scriptures through a lens of Christ and Him crucified. Come ready to learn, discuss, and enjoy the sweet, glorious presence of Jesus.

  • Roots Grow Deep

    Come heal and discover your true purpose in what God wired you for! Go on a journey of discovering how to release, forgive, disappointments and learn to dream again. We will explore Psalm 1:3 to understand how to walk in every season never being dry, never fainting, choosing blessings, and understanding what it means to be ever prospering.

    We will explore in depth how to make room in our hearts to let Holy Spirit show us how to allow trust, and love to fill every wounded place that has disconnected us from walking in our divine purpose. We will walk through healing as we lean in and trust what Holy Spirit is speaking.

  • Street Smarts (Book Study)

    Learn conversation skills to better share your Christain convictions. Curriculum by Stand to Reason (str.org) founder Gregory Koukl.

    Lesson on video. Book and workbook provided. Sundays starting in February from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

    This group is limited to 10 people and is led by Eileen McGowan.

    Breaking Brisket with Jesus, what it means to fellowship with each other and Jesus, creating Koinania Community, bring our testimonies, praise & worship.

    This group is limited to 10 people, and meets every other Sunday at 4pm in Vancouver, WA.

  • Elliot Connect Group

    Come for fellowship, prayer and connection! We will be studying the Ways of God from Psalms 103:7. This includes a potluck dinner, with the main course provided by the Elliot's, please bring a side dish or salad.

    This group is limited to 16 people and will meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 6pm in Portland, OR.

  • Friendship, Discipleship & Identity in Christ

    Develop friendships. Grow in discipleship. Pursue Your Identity in Christ.

    Feel the safety of the Lord's heart and His presence, encounter breakthrough, and greater identity as His Victorious Bride. Each one of us is unique in the talents and destiny He’s given and sharing that in fellowship is exciting.

    Share dinner (main course and drinks will be provided, side dishes and desserts welcome). This group meets Wednesdays at 6pm in Vancouver, WA.

  • Foundations of Marriage

    A discipleship group for couples married 5 years or less.

    This group meets twice monthly in Vancouver, WA on Sunday evenings and is limited to 15 couples. No children except nursing babies under 6 months.

  • Smith Connection Group

    Come for fellowship, testimony and discussion. Snacks and refreshments provided, feel free to bring something but not obligated. No childcare and unfortunately, we are not set up for children.

    This group meets on Fridays at 6pm in Camas, WA.

  • Wounded to Cherished

    For married couples working through challenges and hurts to grow and heal together in a safe community and support group.

    This group meets Thursdays at 7pm in Ridgefield.

For Women

  • Cathy's Bible Study

    This group centers around friendship, prayer for one another, and bible study. We are currently studying Ephesians. Come join our group and develop a connection beyond church day.

    This group meets on Wednesdays at 9:30am in Vancouver, WA.

  • Gigstad Women's Group

    Ladies Bible based study and Support Group. We are currently doing a book study on Andrew Wommack's Body, Soul and Spirit.

    This group is currently at capacity. Please see Rhoda Gigstad for information and to request to be on the waitlist.
